Decorations in Nethergate, Dundee - Ref: WC1789
The Nethergate is possibly decorated in this photograph to celebrate the coronation of Edward VII, in August 1902. Royal events were celebrated with great enthusiasm in Dundee, with decorations, parades and banquets.
The premises on the corner of the Nethergate and Union Street belong to William Menzies, drapers. The building, known as Albion House, later became a bank and is now a public house.(2001)
