It was agreed that it would be left to individual companies to decide whether to close the factory or mill for the day, whether to pay for the 3 hours time off or not close at all.

The cost of the new Hospital was £50,000.00 which was raised by subscription. Those who subscribed were given tickets of admission to the lawn in front of the Hospital to see the opening ceremony.
